Massimo Galleni - Sculptor in Pietrasanta

History

The beginnings

I've begun this work in 1980. In the best craftman workshop of Pietrasanta I've learned all the traditional tecniques for artistic marble working and also to sculp marble directly, especially high-relief, without need of the model but with reference to a photo or a drawing.

1995, the beginning of my own workshop

After 17 years of cooperation in 1995 I've decided to set up on my own opening a traditional workshop where I realize any kind of work: modern, classical and sacred sculptures, portraits, bas-relief, high-relief, decorative panels, ornate, elements for fireplaces, artistic fountains with the best finishing tecnique, exclusively by hand and with traditional tools(chised, rasps, pneumatic drill).

The work and collaborations

Since then I've realized many works ordered by several workhops of Pietrasanta and by private costumers from Italy and from foreign countries like Belgium, Canada, USA, South America, Germany, Croatia, Korea, France and Russia.
In the modern art sector, thanks to Galleries like Studio Copernico(Milano), Flora Bigai(Venezia), Vecchiato Art Galleries(Padova), Astuni(Pietrasanta), Ibi Projects(London), I've realized sculptures for: G. Vangi, L. Ontani, Rabarama, A. Chromy, A. Pinna, Pivi, Mazzoni, C. Sha, D. Silver, M. Gamundi, G. Maraniello, A.Trotta, G. Caravaggio, H. Albert, G. Cuneaz, C. Mattii, A. Seaton, and many others.

Originality and personal style

Im my workshop I try to satisfy the costumer's need developing the request work not only copying a model but also from an idea or drawing and photo of the costumer.
Of course is possible to realize sculptures not only in one kind of marble but also in several kinds of marble(poly-chrome). At the moment the skilled workers in my studio are 10 between employes and external collaborators.
